Some electrical guys will have to figure out how to take a uncertain amount of AC or DC, volts and amps, and store them as good as possible, in a safe way.
Using diodes to turn AC into DC, increase or decrease voltage, make an overflow in case the batteries are full, and to signal information to the user about how much amps and volts are produced and stored. This is not an easy task. Where to get good batteries?
How thick should different wires be? Here is a page in Dutch that, at the bottom, has a wire thickness calculator (for sound systems) Cable Thickness Calculator, at 'Calculator voor kabel dikte' you can fill in some details,
L = Length cable in m
W = Watts
V = volts at start of cable
n = allowed volts loss in the cable (in percentage) due to resistance
Press 'bereken' and q = calculated cable diameter in mm2
What batteries should be used? How can we fill them optimally with as much Ah as possible?
This group does not care WHERE the current comes from: a diesel generator, solar panel, windmill with generator. This group will take any currents, and stores them in the batteries as efficient as possible. Since making power is so hard, we should always try to Use Less Power
